The Texas Drought is BAD, Really BAD

According to the Drought Monitor published by the Researchers at the University of Nevada-Lincoln, the lack of rain in Texas has put most of the state at drought intensities of Extreme to Exceptional in May 2011.

Drought is Classified in 5 Levels

The 5 levels used to describe how severe a drought is are:

  • D0: Abnormally Dry
  • D1 Drought: Moderate
  • D2 Drought: Severe
  • D3 Drought: Extreme
  • D4 Drought: Exceptional

As you can see from the map below, now would be a good time to take short showers, and water your lawn as little as possible.
