The Texas Drought is BAD, Really BAD
According to the Drought Monitor published by the Researchers at the University of Nevada-Lincoln, the lack of rain in Texas has put most of the state at drought intensities of Extreme to Exceptional in May 2011.
Drought is Classified in 5 Levels
The 5 levels used to describe how severe a drought is are:
- D0: Abnormally Dry
- D1 Drought: Moderate
- D2 Drought: Severe
- D3 Drought: Extreme
- D4 Drought: Exceptional
